The adventures of Cam

Hello and welcome to a world where funny, crazy and unexpected things happen... after a hard year getting my Masters Degree and having a crazy Summer in London, I decided to go and work for the South Korean government on several teaching projects (Comm Design & English) for a private design middle school
and design university... my new adventure has begun!

iDesign 2009 - Seoul Global Design Fair

Held at the Seoul Olympiad, it was a great opportunity to see the latest in innovation and creativity. It was just what I needed to get back into focus mode on my creative objectives.

Autumn is here...

Autumn is setting in as the remainder of the leaves abandon their trees (which the students have to clean up EVERY morning!) My students have finished their mid term exams and have been studying hard in preperation for their final exams.

Lunch time (they say lunch-e) is when my beautiuful, well discipliined students transform into different creatures all together....fortunately this curse only lasts for 50mins, ha! Not sure if I mentioned that they wear trainers to school, but indoors have to wear slippers....high school students wear black flip flops (seen here), but i'll update soon of my middle school slippers...best ever!

One of my lessons this week was to play pictionary to talk about different jobs....one student has to draw the job i give them and the rest of the class guess to get points for their team. A small piece of advice..don't use the job of 'wrestler'!

I heart mountains!

As most of you will know, Korea is built on mountains and today me and some of the other teachers were taken out by the principle for an afternoon hike.

It was't a hard climb...took us about one hour from the trail head and not too many rocky parts (you know, the sort that end lives!). At the top, there was a temple and buddha statue with a large well. The views were pretty incredible obviously.

After the hike we all went to eat at traditional restaurant....the male teachers made me drink waaaay too much (saying no to a drink is a little direpectful!), needless to say the night went downhill form there!

How fit are you?

Once a year, the students have to undergo a physical test to make sure they are not getting fat! Not sure why we don't have this in the UK, but it would cut obesity down in no time. But hey, it was a cold morning and was a nice way to escape from my desk....again!
